#quarantine #stayathome #staysafestayathome #quarantinelife Fahrenheit 2020 - Waiting Game

We are confronted with life and what to do with it now, since we have been forced to stay at home. Let's face it, our distractions are less and less, so what do you do with this abundance of time? I, myself am a serial homebody. I live alone and am very comfortable being by myself, but the shiny things that kept the boredom and blues at bay are getting very dull indeed. You could say that many of us are waiting to start living again. What does that mean to wait to live? This means putting things off or pushing them aside to enjoy said life. This quarantine has turned into a giant mirror which is being held right in front of our faces 24/7. Generally speaking, people aren't comfortable being by themselves, and they are less comfortable looking at themselves in the mirror. Especially for longer than a few seconds, but what sane choice do we have? I could get sucked into binge watching or binge eating, but this will only lead to binge beating myself up. Ok, let's look at a few facts to help put things into perspective.

Average American spends:

About 5 years of their life waiting in line

38 hours each year waiting in traffic

13 hours annually waiting on hold for customer service 23 days a year on our phones (90+ minutes a day)

If you've waited 5 years in line, how long have you waited to start that new career, job, business, or to talk to that special someone. Look, some things are worth waiting for, but this is not the time for it. Yeah, I hear you. "How can I do these things from home, moron?" You can start planning, so when you are able to do more you'll know where to start. You could learn about the new career or investigate the company you'd like to work for. Begin writing this stuff down! I cannot express enough how crucial it is to get your ideas on paper. This will solidify your vision, and nothing grand gets done without someone having a vision. Create new habits to support this vision. Make the most of the extra time you have.

Hug your spouse, read to your children, tell those that mean the most to you that you love them. If you miss this chance, you'll just waste more time and energy beating yourself up about it.
